The Cold Has Arrived

I’m sitting in the second floor computer room in Taylor Center out here at AUM. I’m wearing this gray, zip-up hoodie–it’s annoying as the sleeves are too short for my Frankenstein monster-like arms. The first chill of the season has arrived, and I find that I’m not exactly looking forward to the cold as I have in past years. In a little more than a week, I will turn twenty-three. I’m already an old man, physically. I ache when I experience a breeze.

It’s been about three weeks since I stopped drinking cokes. No more pop for Dave. Now that my body doesn’t shake for the caffeine and large doses of aspertame, I am feeling much better.

It’s funny, these days I’ve realized to great extent that any changes for the better that you make? They -have- to be for you. Because people will always judge you on your past, regardless of what you’ve changed. It’s sad but true.

So. The week is almost over, and the weekend holds a trip to Birmingham to work on the short again. Yep, again. Maybe we’ll finish it this week.

You Folk Deserve An Update…

* I finished editing the short film yesterday around 4:24 AM. It still needs some touch-up, some credits, and music, but we should be providing that for it tomorrow.

* Matt and I have started work on a Zombie film. Just jotting ideas and writing scenes. We might have an investor.

* Starting work on Superman: El on Earth comedy shorts. Writing, mostly.

* The first in a series of Podcasts from me has been filmed. It’s called “The Curmudgeon’s Perspective.” Editing while hopefully take place tomorrow. Shouldn’t be a big deal.

Question marks abound in regards to the future, but I don’t really mind right now. I’m enjoying the enigma of life at the moment.

Someone Shot My Spaghetti!

Hello, guys!

Well, after going nuts this past week moving, getting into shouting matches with my father about me getting a flat tire, and hitching a ride to Birmingham with my mom, I am finally working on my short film again. It’s not great, but hopefully it will give you all a chuckle to see faces and voices behind some of the folk I talk about… Anyhoo. I’m a very busy cat, and hopefully I will have this thing on Youtube and Myspace by the end of the weekend. But I really gots to bust my hump, so goodbye for now.

Nothing A Good Night’s Rest Won’t Settle

Interesting projects are on the horizon…

Started writin’ a movie, but another movie came up first, so it’s time for another documentary! Been writing that…

Goin’ to Birmingham tomorrow to see friends and work on editing the short film…

Movie Cancelled

I am sooo out of it. So tired. So tired.

Just a few things here tonight:

* SCHOOL IS ALMOST OVER! … for a while.

* The movie is absolutely not happening now. It may be coming back as something different, but with Jeremy leaving, all the cogs just fell apart. The good news: The scene we shot is not going to go to waste. It should serve as a fine short or skit. It won’t go to waste, this I promise.

* I have two tests tomorrow, and then the weekend. I’m psyched for the weekend. I needs it bad.

* I am both excited and dismayed by the new Superman Returns trailer. Kevin Spacey seems to be hamming up the part of Luthor too much, and I’m still have trouble seeing Routh in the role. My only other problem is that whole Lois Lane having a kid thing, but hopefully, it’s not really hers, just her fiance’s. I am hoping, hoping, hoping. Please, Bryan… I beg of you… NOOOO!

* Star Trek: J.J. Abrams? Ben Affleck? Captain Kirk? FEH!

That’s it, folks.

Ps. tom petty!

Scene Filmed

It’s late, and I’m sick. I know I should be drugged and resting, but I can’t sleep, so I thought I would catch you folks up on what’s been going on with the movie.

It all started on Thursday, the 16th. I had resolved to go to Birmingham to hang out with Spencer, Matt, and Ryan. My reason for going was to film a scene for my as-yet-untitled movie, a scene that involved both my friend Nick and his son Conor. Ashley, my sister, and Spencer was to play a married couple in the scene.

Thursday night, I picked my sister up from class, and we headed to Birmingham after slight delay. When we got there, we hung out with Ryan, Spencer, Matt, and Jade, as well as Bailey, Brooke’s sister (Brooke is the woman who lives below Matt, Ryan, and Spencer).

Friday, the 17th:

I don’t remember most of the day, but we set up shop in the apartment–we were readying ourselves for the shoot when Nick gave us the bad news via his cellphone, that Kellee (his wife) had taken the car seat with her. He would be unable to bring Conor over. With friend Tricia in tow, we drove to Nick and Kellee’s apartment, and prepared to shoot the scene. Three hours later, we called it a wrap. I think it went well.  Now to edit…

Haunted By The Left Unsaid

Jeremy is basically discouraging me from doing the movie, and he makes a good case that I won’t be able to do it. Maybe I’m fooling myself, eh?

My computer is still sick, and now it looks like I’m going to have to find another job, all while going to school. Do I really have the time and attention it would take to make a movie? Really!? I don’t know. I’m not sure anymore. I’m just not sure.

By the way–what happened to motivation? I seem to be lacking in it lately. Lacking motivation and drowning in disillusion and denial.

I’m still planning on the movie for now. But that might change by the end of tonight.
