2012 = Lots More Content

For Maladjusted Productions, 2012 will mean LOTS MORE CONTENT.  With 60 videos to our credit, we have decided to kick it into overdrive.  Here are the goals for Maladjusted Productions in the coming year:

* TWO MORE SEASONS of “Hey Guy!”

The second season of our bizarre web series “Hey Guy!” will hit weekly in January 2012!  Oh, yeah… it’s in full 1080 HD.  A rough filming of it is already in the can, and a second permanent shoot will be commencing soon.  The weird thing?  Season Three is already finished. Go figure.

*Batman Sketches!

Jason Goss and myself have almost completed our first Batman comedy sketch, “The Dark Knight Vs. The Economy.”  Being that the studio is one-bedroom apartment, filming, scheduling, etc. have remained difficult.  Regardless, this is happening.  It’s almost finished.  I promise.  What comes next is a series of Batman sketches that we came up with while filming this one… wacky.

* Star Trek Sketches!

I’m a huge Trekkie, and well, I’ve had a few ideas for Star Trek sketches over the years.  I will attempt to finally produce those soon!

* The Curmudgeon’s Perspective Returns!

The original commentary series by myself (David C. Roberson) returns.

And that’s just the tip of the iceberg.  There is much more in the works at the moment, but I can’t really say much about that at the given time.  We are trying to  up our Youtube subscriber base, so please go check out our channel and subscribe!  Thanks for reading, and I hope to see you soon!

Batman Parody In The Works

The guys at Maladjusted Productions has been working on their own Batman film, and while we can’t reveal the title or concept behind the parody, we can say that it is the most painstakingly difficult project we’ve ever worked on before.  It has literally been months in the making, and there is still a ton of work to do before it’s ready to be released to the public.

If you’re wondering what has been so difficult, I spent countless man hours over the course of weeks constructing a Batman suit that looked “right.”  There have also been the trials and tribulations with chroma key, as green screening will play an intricate part in the production.  Not to mention the fact that there are a number of location shoots to take care of, multi-layered photoshopping, and the blocking problems associated with two male actors portraying six to ten different cast members (all of whom are not male).

New Web Series, “Hey Guy!” Now Online

If you’re a fan on the Maladjusted Productions Facebook fan page or if you’ve subscribed to our youtube channel, you probably noticed a torrential downpour of videos being uploaded last week. The videos being uploaded? All seventeen Season One episodes of “Hey Guy!” by myself (David C. Roberson) and Jeff Hunt.

Originally a failed experiment in improvisation, the footage seemed to be something more when I looked at it nearly three years after the shoot. The project began to take new life in my mind as a web-series.  You can see for yourself here.

It will also be available on this site soon.

New Things To Come

Hi, everyone.  David C. Roberson here with a bit of an update on what you can look forward to from Maladjusted Productions.

It’s been said before that we have an enormous back-catalog of material awaiting edit, and I’m proud to say that after two years, I now have the capabilities to edit these things.  For those of you who are new to Maladjusted Productions, you are doubtless unfamiliar with the majority of the first season of The Curmudgeon’s Perspective or our first comedy sketch, The Drifter.  These things will come to be known to you in the weeks and months ahead.  I will be editing and posting as time permits me.  So what could be more important than restoring the entirety of the Maladjusted Productions’ canon?  Adding to it.

Jason Goss and I have been working on scripts. A couple are ready to be shot.  Props and costumes are being shipped in THIS WEEK for our next three video sketches. I’m staying mum on the details, but I will say that geek glands shall be stimulated.  And all while I am editing a brand, spanking-new Maladjusted Video Diary that should be up soon!  In fact, the first edit is done, and is waiting sound effects and music.  It’s a fun little piece that I hope you all enjoy.

COMING JULY 20th, 2011: “The Curmudgeon’s Perspective # 3: The State of Star Trek,” originally posted in March, 2007.

A Video Editing Nightmare

I know there are people out there who wonder what happened to more than 50% of the videos I once had posted on my youtube account. Those videos, in my mind, were and will always be a part of Maladjusted Productions, a part of the canon of my maturation (however much of that has arguably happened) as an artist in a visual medium. For those who wonder, perhaps they will stumble across this blog post.

The simple fact of the matter is, I was stupid when I was just starting out, and I believed that it was okay to use copyrighted music in my videos. That’s the majority of the reason for so many being gone. A couple of my videos were stripped from Youtube BY youtube, and I took the others down that had any violations. The other reason is because I was more… free with my language in those days, and I no longer felt that it accurately represented me in any way.

That being said, there are loads of things in those videos, the master tapes of those videos, that I would love to have out there, and I would love to take a crack at editing those old things again. Re-posting them. I have hours upon hours of workable footage sitting on a shelf (quite literally), and as it is, I have nothing to edit with.

I have searched for free editing software with even the capabilities of the OLD Windows Movie Maker (the program I used to make the vast majority of my old videos), and freeware programs just don’t have the capabilities. Most of the time, they don’t even WORK once you’ve downloaded them. Oddly, the newest version of Windows Movie Maker for Windows 7 is less impressive than its ten year-old counterpart.

I am blessed enough to have friends with very nice editing software, but the drive to their respective residences is very gas-consuming. And they have lives and things to do on their own computers. I can’t go over to their places every time I need to edit something. Had I the capability, I would be editing every free second to get more content out to our subscribers and out to the community in general. And my computer simply isn’t able to handle even the $49-&100 dollar range of video editing software.

I’m getting discouraged. My head is telling me to quit, but my heart is telling me to keep trudging through the muck until I find dry land.

Trudging on,
David C. Roberson, Maladjusted Productions
